Caravan Palace is a French electro-swing band formed in Paris in the mid-2000s. Their music blends vintage swing, gypsy jazz, and big-band sounds with modern electronic production, drawing influences from artists like Django Reinhardt, Lionel Hampton, and Daft Punk.
They first gained attention with their self-titled debut in 2008, which charted across Europe and sold over 150,000 copies worldwide.
Since then, they’ve become one of the most recognizable names in the electro-swing revival, known for animated music videos, dance-friendly grooves, and energetic live shows.
Caravan Palace began around 2005 when several musicians were hired to create a soundtrack for a silent film project. The experiment led them to mix swing-style instrumentation with electronic beats, and the concept quickly evolved into a full band.
Core founding members included, Arnaud “Vial” de Bosredon – guitar, production; Charles Delaporte – bass, programming; Hugues Payen – violin, programming. Singer Zoé Colotis joined shortly afterward, helping define the band’s vocal-driven sound.
