Otyken

Otyken is a Siberian indigenous folk-pop group formed in 2015 in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia by producer Andrey “Medonos” Chernetsov. The project began as an effort to preserve and promote endangered Indigenous Siberian cultures, especially those of the Chulym, Ket, Selkup, Khakas, and Dolgan peoples. 

Otyken’s music is a striking fusion of traditional Siberian folk music, modern pop, EDM, and electronic elements. They perform using a mix of, traditional instruments (jaw harp, komuz, igil, drums), and modern instruments (bass, synths, electronic beats).

Vocally, they often use, throat singing, and Indigenous languages like Chulym, Khakas, and Dolgan. Their visual identity is just as important—featuring elaborate, handmade costumes inspired by ancient Siberian traditions and mythology.
