Dub Colossus is a UK–Ethiopian world fusion collective founded in 2008 by British musician, producer, and composer Nick Page (aka Dubulah).
The project emerged after Page traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he immersed himself in local music scenes and collaborated with a range of Ethiopian artists—vocalists like Sintayehu “Mimi” Zenebe and Tsedenia Gebremarkos, pianist Samuel Yirga, and traditional musicians such as Teremage Woretaw.
The result is a rich, hypnotic fusion that feels both deeply rooted and globally modern. Initially conceived as a studio project, the group quickly evolved into a powerful live act, known for transporting audiences into a vibrant Addis Ababa dancehall atmosphere.
Following the death of Nick Page in 2021, collaborators and family continued the project, preserving his vision and completing new material, including posthumous releases.
Dub Colossus sits in that fascinating space alongside projects like Transglobal Underground (also linked to Page), where cultural exchange is the whole point. Their music isn’t just fusion for novelty—it’s deeply collaborative, with Ethiopian musicians shaping the sound as much as the dub/reggae framework.
