Banco de Gaia

Banco de Gaia is the long-running electronic music project of English composer and producer Toby Marks, active since 1989. Marks’ sound sits at the intersection of ambient, techno, dub, and world music, often blending electronic beats with samples and instrumentation from Middle Eastern, African, and Asian traditions. He emerged from the UK’s late-’80s acid house scene but quickly carved out a more atmospheric, globally influenced style, drawing inspiration from artists like Pink Floyd and the early ambient house movement.
